Planning Workshop to enhance integrity in the security sector

Tunis, July 8, 2019: In partnership with the National Anti-Corruption Agency (INLUCC), DCAF co-organized a planning workshop to enhance integrity in the Tunisian security sector.

 

With the help of an expert in governance and reform of the security sector, participants benefited, via practical exercises, from a day of  reflection on the needs and challenges in the area of the promotion of integrity in the security sector. This exercise led to the identification of priority areas of action for the elaboration of action plan on integrity in this sector.

 

The workshop brought together about twenty representatives of the Ministry of the Interior, representatives of the Ministry of National Defense and representatives of the National Anti-Corruption Agency. It allowed to:

-         Deepen thinking on the need to develop a culture of integrity in the security sector;

-         Identify the challenges and opportunities in furthering integrity building by the respectives administrations;

-         Identify next steps to enhance integrity and ethics noticeably through the development of a realistic action plan.

 

Following this workshop, DCAF will submit for approval a program of cooperation in the field of building integrity in the security sector.
