Training and awareness raising on governance and integrity in the security sector

Tunis, February 20-26 and March 9, 2020: As part of its "Governance and Integrity in the security sector" program with the National Anti-Corruption Authority (INLUCC) and the Ministry of Interior, DCAF organized training on:

 

-   Whistleblower protection;

-   Internal audit and the prevention of corruption in the security sector;

-   The system of declaration of assets and interests in the fight against illicit enrichment in the security sector.

 

The training allowed to discuss challenges to the implementation of the legislation in the fields concerned, concerning measures for whistleblower protection , the role and tools of auditors and inspectors in the system for preventing and combating corruption, and the procedures for verifying cases of conflicts of interest and investigations carried out in cases of suspicion of illicit enrichment.

 

The training sessions brought together representatives of the Ministry of the Interior (the Central cell of governance, the Inspections, the structures of the Internal Security Forces, the Directorate of legal studies, the Directorate for training and Ministry’s training institutions)  as well as and from INLUCC investigators.

 

This training is financed through the DCAF Trust Fund for North Africa (TFNA). The Fund is financed actually by Belgium, France, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and Switzerland. Further information on DCAF is available on the DCAF website or on the DCAF Tunisia website.
