DCAF and the Center for Research, Studies, Documentation and Information on Women (CREDIF) organize a workshop on:

Tunis, July 2 and 3, 2018: DCAF and the Center for Research, Studies, Documentation and Information on Women (CREDIF) organize a workshop on "The prevention of violent extremism: key actors and actions to be engaged".

This workshop was inaugurated by Mrs. Néziha Laabidi, Minister of Women, Family, Childhood and Seniors and led by national and international experts, for an audience composed of representatives of governmental and non-governmental organizations.

The workshop took place in three sessions:

1. The fight against violent extremism in Tunisia: how far have we gotten?

2. Families at the heart of prevention and the fight against violent extremism: lessons, opportunities and challenges

3. Gender and prevention of violent extremism

 

The objectives of this workshop are:

 

• Improve knowledge of the different governmental and non-governmental actors working on the phenomena of radicalization, violent extremism and terrorism.

• start thinking about the role that the family can play in preventing radicalization.

• initiate a reflection around preventive actions/ experiences, based on the family

 

DCAF’s contribution isfunded by DCAF Trust Fund for North Africa (TFNA).

The donors are Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Slovakia, Sweden and Switzerland.
