DCAF organizes a study trip to Belgium on crisis communication for Tunisian officials of the Ministry of Interior

Brussels, 21 - 25 August 2017: With the support of DCAF, a delegation from the Tunisian Ministry of Interior visited Brussels for a study trip. The delegation included 10 senior officials from the national security, civil defense, and the office of information and communication.

The Tunisian delegation visited several institutions notably the Crisis Center, the Coordination unit for threat assessment (CUTA), the Belgian Federal Police Headquarters, and the Belgian Ministry of Interior in order to benefit from Belgium’s know-how in terms of crisis management and communication. The program also included a visit to Crisnée’s Civil defense center near the city of Liège.

This study trip is part of the ongoing support program by DCAF to the Ministry of Interior in terms of crisis communication launched in 2015. This support program has led to the development of “a crisis communication strategy” that was approved by the Minister of Interior on August, 20th, 2015.

DCAF’s contribution to the project “Support of the Ministry of Interior in crisis communication” is financed through DCAF Trust Fund for North Africa (TFNA). The Fund is financed by Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Slovakia, Sweden and Switzerland.
