DCAF organizes two workshops on “journalistic sources and techniques for covering issues related to the good governance of the security sector”

The Geneva Centre for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces organized from 25 to 26 November 2017 and from 20 to 21 January 2018 respectively in Tunis and Sfax two training workshops on “journalistic sources and techniques for covering issues related to the good governance of the security sector” for twenty journalists from different regions of Tunisia.

Participants reviewed various journalistic styles and interactive tools (timeline, cartography, etc.) that can be used when covering security-related issues.

During this training conducted by a Journalist-trainer specializing in investigative journalism, Participants became aware of different sources and tools that will help them develop their journalistic content. This training was an opportunity to review the fundamentals for conducting interviews.

The training is part of DCAF’s support to media as they play a critical role in indirectly overseeing the security sector.

DCAF’s contribution to this workshop was financed through DCAF Trust Fund for North Africa (TFNA). The donors are Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Slovakia, Sweden and Switzerland.
