Guaranteeing integrity and prevent corruption risks in times of crisis

Tunis and Rabat, July 9, 2020: DCAF and the National Anti-Corruption Authority (INLUCC) organized, with the participation of the Moroccan National Authority for Probity, Prevention and Fight against Corruption (INPPLC) a Webinar on the subject “Guaranteeing integrity and preventing corruption risks in times of crisis”.

This webinar allowed participants to discuss the risks of corruption during times of crisis and the related challenges through sharing their respective experiences.

The webinar was an opportunity to present the guidelines developed by the Council of Europe's Group of States against Corruption (GRECO) on managing corruption risks in the context of this crisis (“Corruption risks and legal references useful in the context of COVID-19”). These guidelines have identified the areas that are most exposed to the risks of corruption, in particular public procurement, and the responses to deal with them.

During the discussions, the participants emphasized the importance of transparency, control and accountability in the anti-corruption process. They also underlined the importance of institutional coordination and access to information as essential vectors to ensure the confidence of citizens.

This webinar is part of the DCAF-INLUCC partnership in the area of governance and integrity in the security sector.

This event is financed through the DCAF Trust Fund for North Africa (TFNA). The Fund is financed actually by Belgium, France, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and Switzerland. Further information on DCAF is available on the DCAF website or on the DCAF Tunisia website.
