Tunis Afrique Presse (TAP) and DCAF sign a memorandum of understanding to improve coverage of security-related issues

Tunis, 23 May 2017: Tunis Afrique Presse (TAP) and DCAF signed a memorandum of understanding, at TAP headquarters. The MoU stresses the key role the media play as a source of objective information, analysis and investigation, in promoting good governance of the security sector.

The MoU reflects the common desire by both institutions to reinforce professional coverage of security issues by Tunisian journalists. Thus, the MoU includes the implementation of a number of joint support programs and training sessions to be offered to journalists at the training center of TAP. Within the same context, both organizations will organize several seminars, meetings, and study days on the role of media in promoting good governance of the security sector.

This support program is part of focus related to providing “support to communication and information sharing.” DCAF contribution to the project is funded by DCAF Trust Fund for North Africa (TFNA).

The fund is financed by Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Slovakia, Sweden, and Switzerland.
