DCAF supports the Access to information authority (INAI) to developing its strategic plan

Tunis, 26 September 2019: DCAF co-organized the International Access to Information Day on 26 and 27 September in partnership with the Access to Information Authority (INAI), UNESCO, Article 19, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and the National Syndicate of Tunisian Journalists.

This day was an opportunity for INAI to present to the public and its partners its strategic plan covering the period 2019 - 2023.

The plan, developed with the support and technical assistance of DCAF, is the first of its kind for an independent body in Tunisia. First, it outlines INAI's strategic vision, values and role in upholding the principles of transparency and accountability.

Subsequently, this plan presents 3 strategic axes through which INAI aims to strengthen its role in guaranteeing a better exercise of the right of access to information and increasing its capacities and technical and financial resources, with the support of its international partners.

The presentation of this strategic plan had a positive impact on the audience, which was mainly composed of government officials, access to information officers, civil society representatives and international partners.

DCAF reiterates its full readiness to support INAI in the implementation of its plan within the framework of the partnership between the two institutions in the field of access to information in the security sector.

This project is funded through the DCAF Trust Fund for North Africa (TFNA). The Fund is financed by Belgium, France, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Switzerland. Further information on DCAF is available on the DCAF website or on the DCAF Tunisia website
