DCAF held, in cooperation with the Instance Nationale de Lutte Contre la Corruption (INLUCC – National Agency for the fight against corruption) and the Tunisian War college, a three-day seminar on good governance and integrity in the defense sector.

The seminar, which was opened by the President of the INLUCC Mr. Chawki Tabib, was held for the Tunisian War College 23rd promotion. Among the various topics that were discussed, several sessions addressed challenges and opportunities  regarding the fight against corruption in Tunisia.

The Agency’s staff also presented an overview of the current legal framework to fight corruption, and opened up discussions on the notions of whistleblower protection and conflicts of interest.

Five international experts intervened with exposés on good governance topics related to the Defense sector, among them case studies of anticorruption endeavors in Croatia and Bulgaria.

This seminar marked the beginning of a cooperation program between DCAF and the INLUCC that will aim at supporting the agency in its interaction with the Ministry of Defence and other security sector actors.

This seminar was funded through the DCAF Trust Fund for North Africa (TFNA). The Fund is financed by Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Slovakia, Sweden, and Switzerland. Further information on DCAF is available on the DCAF website or on the DCAF Tunisia website
