DCAF organizes training on Internet search techniques and the use of metadata for the benefit of INAI

Tunis, 26, 27, 28 June: DCAF organized a 3-day training session on “Internet-based research techniques and the use of metadata related to good governance of the security sector.”

 

This event follows the series of trainings organized for the National Body for Access to Information (INAI) under the cooperation agreement aiming to strengthen the capacity of this independent body.

 

25 staff and board members participated in this training which helped to

 

-   improve their knowledge of the various tools available online for a better monitoring of cases related to access to information;

 

-   become acquainted with the tools and techniques facilitating the research, monitoring, verification, and authentication of the data published on the Internet, social media, and media websites

 

-   develop knowledge of data visualization tools for a better presentation of gathered data.

 

The support provided by DCAF to INAI is part of its strategic objective to provide communication support and enhance information sharing.

 

This training is funded through the DCAF Trust Fund for North Africa (TFNA). The Fund is financed by Belgium, France, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and Switzerland. Further information on DCAF is available on the DCAF website or on the DCAF Tunisia website
