DCAF supports the participation of Tunisians institutional actors to the conference on the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe’s (OSCE) Code of Conduct in Berlin.

Berlin, 2 and 3 June 2016: DCAF, in collaboration with the OSCE, assured the participation of two women parliamentarians and one key personnel of the Cabinet of the Minister of Defense to the Conference on the OSCE Code of Conduct. The Code of Conduct on Politico-Military Aspects of Security was adopted on 3 December 1994.

This two-day event organized by the OSCE German Chairmanship aimed at emphasizing the importance of the Code within the OSCE participating States. It  focused on the oversight function of parliaments and parliamentarians and the promotion of the Code of Conduct’s important provisions regarding the democratic control of security providers.

DCAF support to this activity was part of its work stream “support to strengthening of parliamentary and independent oversight”.

It is financed through DCAF’s Trust Fund for North Africa (TFNA). The Fund’s financial resources are provided by Belgium, Germany, Luxemburg, the Netherlands, Slovakia, Sweden and Switzerland. Further information on DCAF is available on the DCAF website or on DCAF Tunisia website.
