Signature of a cooperation agreement between DCAF and CREDIF in the area of the prevention of violent extremism, gender and good governance of the security sector

Tunis, 25 September 2019 : As part of its mission to promote good governance and reinforce the gender approach in the security sector, DCAF has signed a cooperation agreement with CREDIF in the field of prevention of corruption, violent extremism, gender and good governance in the security sector.

DCAF will provide CREDIF with its network of expertise in implementing and monitoring strategies to prevent violent extremism. Cooperation will be achieved through the organization of workshops, training sessions, seminars and conferences. DCAF and CREDIF will exchange experiences and carry out joint studies and publications.

The signing of this agreement is a continuation of the collaboration between DCAF and CREDIF on issues related to gender and good governance of the security sector. Indeed, in July 2018, DCAF and CREDIF already co-organized a workshop on “The prevention of violent extremism: the key actors and the actions to be taken”.

This cooperation is funded through DCAF's North Africa Trust Fund (TFNA). Funding for this fund comes from Germany, Belgium, France, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and Switzerland. More information on DCAF is available on the DCAF website or on the DCAF website in Tunisia.
