The association Aswat Nissa and DCAF organize a training workshop on integrating the gender perspective into the process of Security Sector Reform (SSR) for Tunisian political women of the south of Tunisia.

Tozeur, 11-12 November 2017: Aswat Nissa and DCAF organized a two-day training workshop on gender integration into the SSR process for political women of south of Tunisia (Tozeur, Sfax, Gabes, Gafsa and Nafta).

 

This training - conducted by two members of Aswat Nissa, a Tunisian expert, as well as two DCAF experts - aimed to:

 

- strengthen participants' knowledge of SSG/R;

 

- providethem with the necessary knowledge and skills to integrate the gender approach into the development of security policies.

 

Other training workshops of this kind will be organised for political women from other Tunisian regions in the coming months.

 

The support provided by DCAF to Tunisian political women is part of its strategic objectives to foster inclusive dialogue on security needs and policies and support to managing change of security providers.

 

DCAF’s contribution to the project is funded by its Trust Fund for North Africa (TFNA). The donors are Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Slovakia, Sweden and Switzerland.
