A series of preparatory meetings for the elaboration of the annual report on the state of juvenile rehabilitation centres

A series of preparatory meetings for the elaboration of the annual report on the state of juvenile rehabilitation centres

Tunis, March, April and May 2020: DCAF convened a series of preparatory working meetings online, providing an opportunity for the 12 child protection delegates, who are empowered to undertake visits of juvenile detention centers, to exchange on regional experiences on human rights within these detention facilities.

Those preparatory meetings, hosted over the course of March, April, and May, under the guidance of a juvenile justice expert, will help the delegates developing and preparing a draft annual report on visits to juvenile detention centers, the first of its kind in Tunisia.

On the other hand, the preparatory meetings helped reinforce the exchanges of experiences and knowledge on national standards as well as methods to structure and plan national reports.

It is worth mentioning that this activity is a continuation of DCAF's support program for the Ministry of Women, and more specifically for the Office of the General Delegate for Child Protection.

This training is financed through the DCAF Trust Fund for North Africa (TFNA). The Fund is financed actually by Belgium, France, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and Switzerland. Further information on DCAF is available on the DCAF website or on the DCAF Tunisia website.
